Almo’s summer intern program includes a meaningful summer project, a series of career training workshops, and contact with senior leaders.
This is a full-time, paid internship in our Northeast Philadelphia headquarters office that will run from roughly May/June through July/August, depending on student availability. The core learning program will run for 8 weeks.
Important: We are planning for this particular internship to be an in-office experience. Almo Corporation is taking the highest safety protocols into play to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all employees. Our Philadelphia Office team members are currently working from home. In the event that our offices remain closed due to COVID-19 come May 2021, we will be prepared for a remote internship experience that captures all the elements listed above.
What you will do in this role:
Job functions include entry-level responsibilities within the designated department. Interns will have exposure to all facets of the department.
The Operations intern will be responsible for:
General project work across the operations spectrum:
Distribution
Industrial Engineering
Facilities management
Indirect materials procurement
Domestic & International transportation
WMS/TMS understanding
Data analytics
Workflow documentation & improvement
This role requires the willingness to be onsite to see in person distribution operations in a limited capacity. As noted above, Almo Corporation has implemented higher safety protocols to ensure a safe experience.
What we look for in a candidate:
Education:
Currently enrolled in undergraduate program at an accredited college (preference for rising juniors and seniors)
Preferred Majors: Operations, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering
Qualifications:
Experience with AutoCAD
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Productive time management skills
Minimum 3.0 GPA
