The U.S. Department of State’s Information Management Technical Specialists, Radio (IMTS-R) and Unified Communications (IMTS-UC), help to strengthen national security—all while developing both professionally and personally. Information Management Technical Specialists – Radio (IMTS-R) install, repair and maintain a wide range of radio and telecommunications systems. They provide oversight for assorted hardware and software procurement, logistics and maintenance of radio equipment, parts, and components. These professionals serve at regional locations throughout the world and travel to U.S. Embassies within and outside of their base location to support radio programs. Our radio technicians are responsible for ensuring the safety and integrity of radio networks around the world. 2. Information Management Technical Specialists – Unified Communications (IMST-UC) install, repair and maintain telecommunications and telephone systems. They provide oversight for assorted hardware procurement, logistics and maintenance programs. Working with U.S. diplomats and foreign nationals in host countries, they support diplomacy through information technology management and maintenance. These professionals serve at regional locations throughout the world and travel to U.S. Embassies within and outside of their base location to support embassy operations. Our professionals are responsible for ensuring the safety and integrity of all information, by protecting classified material, providing on-going technical support, and optimizing systems and network operations.
