Job Description

ONxpress Operations Inc. (OOI) is shaping the future of transit in the Greater Golden Horseshoe area. With a long-term partnership with Metrolinx, OOI will oversee the operations and maintenance of the GO Transit rail network and Union Pearson Express, as part of the groundbreaking GO Expansion program. Job Summary 
As an enterprise level Solution Architect, you will be responsible for designing and overseeing the implementation of comprehensive IT solutions that support business objectives. You will work closely with business and IT leaders to develop architecture strategies, ensure alignment with enterprise standards, and provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

•   Develop and maintain enterprise architecture models, frameworks, and standards.
•   Design and oversee the implementation of complex IT solutions, ensuring they meet business requirements and align with enterprise architecture standards.
•   Collaborate with business leaders, IT teams, and other stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
•   Conduct architectural reviews and evaluations to ensure compliance with best practices and enterprise standards.
•   Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and maintainable.
•   Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and practices to enhance the enterprise architecture.
•   Create and maintain documentation for architecture designs, processes, and standards.
•   Participate in strategic planning and contribute to the development of IT roadmaps.
•   Stay updated with the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in enterprise architecture.
•   Lead, mentor, and guide other Solution Architects, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
•   Conduct regular knowledge-sharing sessions and provide professional development opportunities for team members.

Qualifications

Education & Experience 
•   Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
•   10 years experience as a Solution Architect, with a focus on enterprise-level solutions.
•   Strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman).
•   Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and hybrid cloud environments.
•   Proficiency in designing and implementing complex IT solutions, including applications, databases, and infrastructure. Experience with DevOps practices and tools.
•   Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards.
•   Experience with architecture tools such as Blue Dolphin, Sparx Systems Enterprise Architect, or similar.

Required Skills
•   Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
•   Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
•   Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications  
•   Relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
