Job Description

Accountability

  • Accountable to client and ONxpress fleet project delivery team & senior management.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the project's technical requirements as well as its contractual commitments.
  • Project Governance: Gather data for project and interface reviews and make sure project deliverables are tracked and on-time for delivery.
  • Project resource management: locating important personnel and giving them the guidance needed to carry out the project's goals.
  • Project Risk Management: Identify, reduce, and manage project risks proactively.
  • Status reporting: Using predetermined tools and procedures, provide project status reports that include correct financial data.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Identify and coordinate the resolution of project interface-related issues with important stakeholders.
  • Lead and review the overall planning of project activities to identify critical milestones and priorities.
  • Make sure of the execution of all business, technical, financial, and administrative tasks for the specified projects.
  • Ensuring timely submission of Development Phase O&M deliverables.
  • Identify interfaces, make sure of alignment of activities between different segments in order to completely and accurately deliver the project outcomes.
  • Guide project teams toward project success and support problem solving and resolution of risks.
  • Effectively communicate project status with all stakeholders and ensure completion of assigned work and documentation.
  • Monitors and reports on the progress of all project activity including milestones, and any conditions, which would affect project schedule or deliverables.

Qualifications

Education & Qualifications

  • Completion of a degree in Engineering, or related field – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent

Certifications or Designations 

  • Project Management designation is an asset.
  •  Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) qualification or the ability to attain this status is considered an asset

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Fleet/Rolling Stock management required, preferably in a railroad environment.
  • Willingness to work in a complex project, providing new ideas and facilitating collaboration and cooperation between diverse      stakeholders to deal with complex issues.
  • Must have extensive previous working experience with MS Project and Primavera.

Competencies 

  • Willingness to work in a complex project, providing new ideas and facilitating collaboration and cooperation between diverse    stakeholders to deal with construction and complex engineering issues. 
  • Knowledge of project management principles and practices, including resource and critical path management. 
    Interpersonal and oral/written/presentation communication skills
    Demonstrate flexibility in assigned works
    Possesses a valid driver’s license
