Our client in a small, yet fast paced lending company is seeking a Mortgage Collection Officer candidate for a permanent position in Toronto, easily accessible by TTC. The company offers a wonderful environment with supportive managers, friendly colleagues, and are looking for the same to join their team. The Mortgage Collection Officer will focus on collections of residential and commercial mortgages by providing efficient and effective management of mortgage arrears.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Engage with clients to address mortgage arrears and establish repayment plans.

  • Monitor and follow up with borrowers to ensure arrears are resolved in a timely manner.

  • Develop and implement strategies to recover outstanding mortgage balances.

  • Process mortgage payments and set up pre-authorized payments as needed.

  • Prepare and distribute letters, statements, repayment schedules, and other documents related to mortgage default and power of sale procedures.

  • Collaborate with solicitors, real estate agents, and internal teams during the recovery process.

  • Maintain accurate records of mortgage files, documenting actions and current arrears status.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in mortgage collections or default recovery.

  • Solid understanding of the mortgage default legal process.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Effective written and verbal communication abilities.

  • Comfortable using internal systems and standard office software.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while contributing positively to the team.

  • Professional demeanor and a commitment to maintaining a collaborative work environment.
