As a CBSA transport guard, you will be responsible for monitoring people who have arrived at the airport who are experiencing immigration complications and cannot officially enter the country and who are deemed to be an enhanced risk to others. You will also be responsible for ensuring the safe transport of these people, to and from various off-site locations.
In this role you will:
• Ensure the protection of people, assets, and property.
• Escort people within the facility as well as ensuring the safe transport of people to and from various off-site locations using restraints to ensure the safety of everybody.
• Demonstrate empathy and compassion and a recognition that you are working with individuals under stress.
• Observe, monitor, and report on behavior of detainees.
• Conduct regular foot patrols - both indoor and outdoor facilities
• Monitor and properly utilize security software and equipment!
• Generate daily incident reports.
• Utilization of tactical training to de-escalate potentially dangerous situations.
This work requires vigilance, efficiency, but also a talent for customer service and compassion as you will be working with people within a vulnerable situation.
