03/13/2025Address:525 8th Ave SW East TowerWealth Sales & ServiceAs an Investment Associate, you will be responsible for partnering with a highly successful senior IA team to assist in developing and building a profitable business.
The primary accountability of this role is to build trust and strong client relationships, determine individual investment needs and provide professional, customized advice to ensure client’s financial goals are met. Investment Associates are also responsible for developing long term relationships with clients based on the Investment Teams' commitment to provide the best available wealth planning and investment advice and deliver an exceptional “white glove” client experience.
The Investment Associate will also be responsible for assisting in building a profitable business and obtaining net new assets in partnership with the Senior IA and other Investment Associates.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of investment processes and procedures.
- Proactively and professionally provides assistance to IA(s) in order to meet client needs, develop and execute business strategy and business planning
- Capable of acting independently with defined client segments on behalf of IA(s) to implement and manage wealth management strategies
- Knowledge of portfolio construction and management
- Knowledge of Insurance products in order to know when to refer clients to insurance specialist
- Knowledge of Financial Planning in order to assist clients
- Ability to identify appropriate investment strategies based on client needs
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of client needs
- Proactive business development and strong sales and marketing skills. Develops business with clients / prospects using proactive selling and marketing techniques (e.g. telemarketing, networking, seminars, community involvement).
- Strong business and community network of a diverse group of potential clients
- Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to a wide variety of individuals
- A high degree of integrity and honesty in all client interactions
- Identifies gaps, issues, and best practices by monitoring of sales and service performance against plans.
- Fulfills client sales and service activities in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintains the confidentiality of client information.
- Adheres to internal risk mitigation policies and industry rules/regulations.
- Thinks creatively and proposes new solutions.
- Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.
- Works mostly independently.
- Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience and/or certification in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of Canadian Securities Course & Conduct and Practices Handbook.
- Registration as Registered Representative (RR).
- Complies with mandatory CIRO Continuing Education Program requirements.
- WME must be completed within 30 months of RR License
- Specialized knowledge from education and/or business experience.

Please note that this role is eligible to receive a monthly discretionary bonus.
$41,600.00 - $77,000.00Salaried & CommissionThe above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked.
