Altis Recruitment is seeking a Human Resources Consultant who work closely with our client, in the health care sector. The successful incumbent will collaborate with the HR team to deliver strategic support, guidance, and leadership to both management and staff. This position will utilize a client-focused approach, acting as a single point of contact for HR services with an emphasis on Labour and Employee Relations.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic advisor to management and staff, providing expert HR consultation and leadership.
  • Focus on Labour and Employee Relations, Talent Acquisition, and Total Rewards, delivering tailored solutions and guidance.
  • Lead and manage HR projects, ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic objectives.
  • Build strong partnerships with management to align HR services with business needs.
  • Design and implement HR programs and processes that drive organizational success.
  • Manage complex employee relations issues, including conducting workplace investigations.
  • Foster positive and collaborative relationships with union partners and stakeholders.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 5+ years of advanced HR experience with a focus on employee and labour relations. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an unionized setting. 
  • Strong understanding of employment legislation, including the Employment Standards Act, WSIB, Human Rights Code, AODA, Labour Relations Act, and Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Experience in a consultative HR service model is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain effective relationships with clients and union representatives.

Education

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or a related discipline.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience in a Hospital or Heath Care environment.
