The Senior Manager, Data Product Management, has a key role in the Global Wealth Management (GWM) Data Centre of Excellence. Reporting to the Director, Data Product Management, this role is responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle management of data products. The Senior Manager will work closely with business stakeholders, technology partners, and data stewards to define, develop, and deliver high-quality data products that drive business value and align with GWM's data strategy. This role is pivotal in fostering an insight-driven culture and ensuring that data is leveraged as a strategic asset across the organization.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Manage the entire data product lifecycle from ideation, through development and testing, to launch, and iteration
  • Be responsible for the strategic vision around enabling enterprise-scale AI through trusted, governed, interoperable, and reusable data products that transform data into intelligent business outcomes
  • Contribute to the data product roadmap, prioritize features, and define product requirements based on business needs and user feedback
  • Champion data governance and ensure data products adhere to all policies, standards, and quality metrics.
  • Work with Data Stewards to define and document metadata, data lineage, and quality controls for data products
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for data products, including usage, quality, and business value
  • Collaborate with business lines, technology teams, and the Chief Data Office (CDO) to ensure alignment of data strategies, standards, and governance
  • Act as a key liaison between technical teams and business users to translate business needs into technical requirements and vice versa
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration to ensure efficient data access and management
  • Identify new opportunities to create business value through the development of innovative data products
  • Support the strategic, use-case-based approach to growing data product capabilities and maturing GWM's data practice

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • Undergraduate degree in technology, commerce, or a related field
  • Spanish language skills are mandatory due to regular interactions with Spanish-speaking clients and stakeholders
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards, trends in data products, data quality, data storage and distribution solutions, data governance, and product ownership
  • Excellent negotiation skills when communicating with business and technical stakeholders and aligning needs, capabilities, and technology.
  • Proven experience managing the end-to-end product lifecycle for data-intensive products
  • Strong knowledge of the Wealth Management or Financial Services industry is required
  • Experience with data management tools and query languages (e.g., SQL, Python)
  • Familiarity with data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Looker).
  • Knowledge of modern data platforms and cloud environments (e.g., GCP, Azure, Databricks) is an asset
  • Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Strong ability to explain complex data concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Creative, self-starting, and results-oriented with a strong ability to solve complex problems
  • Proven ability to balance strategic vision with practical, hands-on execution
