Founded in 1954, LM-ESP is a partnership- led professional services firm of approximately 50 architects, interior designers, technologists, and administrative staff based in Winnipeg’s historic Exchange District. We design across the healthcare, education, civic, recreation, commercial, and residential sectors, delivering architecture and interior design that helps shape vibrant, sustainable communities.
In this role, you will support the preparation and coordination of construction documents, working closely with Architects, Interior Designers, Senior Job Captains, and Project Team Leads. You’ll contribute to the technical delivery of projects with varying scopes and complexities, with opportunities to take on greater responsibility as your experience grows. The candidate’s background in preparing construction documents, supervising a production team and knowledge of building materials and construction techniques will be applied to a range of projects that vary in typology and scope.
The candidate will provide direct assistance and support as part of a project team during the various phases of project delivery as outlined below:
Coordinate directly with the Project Team Lead to review the project parameters, proposed design approach, production overview and project schedule. The candidate will develop associated deliverables through initial internal coordination for review with the Client.
From coordinating associated engineering and design disciplines, to preparing working technical drawings and other documents, the candidate must ensure that documents are comprehensive, complete, accurate, and support a well-presented product.
Assist in the preparation and distribution of bid documents, assist in the review and response to inquiries, and coordinate contract addenda to be issued.
Attend site review meetings periodically to support the Contract Administrator and report on progress, assessing whether construction is in conformance with contract documents. The candidate will assist the design team in reviewing submittals and issuing project revisions and clarifications by way of correspondence, and maintain project drawings or BIM models to support project closeout.
Diploma or Certificate in Architectural and Building Technology or equivalent from an accredited institution.
A minimum of 3 -5 years of related professional experience.
Certified Architectural Technologist is an asset.
Proficient in word processing, design software, AutoCAD, and Revit, including the use of Revit families.
Knowledge of standard office policies and procedures.
Knowledge of procedures for the production of construction documents.
Background in building materials, specifications and construction techniques.
Understanding of building codes and standards/engineering disciplines to coordinate work.
Understanding of contractor coordination and various construction processes.
