We are currently seeking a Project Controls Lead to support and enhance project delivery across the Canada West Energy and Resources (Power Delivery) project portfolio. Reporting to the leadership team, this position will provide portfolio-wide leadership for project controls, scheduling, cost management, reporting, process development, and onboarding initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, Document Control, and will collaborate with our Delivery Center resources to ensure the consistent application of project controls practices. Your Key Responsibilities Portfolio Project Controls - Act as the project controls lead for the CA West Power Delivery portfolio. - Promote consistency in scheduling, cost control, forecasting, reporting, change management, and project administration. - Provide guidance and mentorship to project teams regarding project controls requirements using Stantec’s established processes. - Support monitoring and reporting of portfolio performance. - Support project pursuit and setup activities including project controls estimation, WBS setup, and charge code structure. - Support project managers with budget monitoring, forecasting, and estimate-at-completion reviews. Coordinate monthly project budget and schedule updates and forecasts. - Support PM team with management of change and coordinate implementation of approved change orders. - Review schedule quality, milestone performance and forecast completion dates. Process Development and Documentation - Develop, maintain, and improve upon project controls procedures, work instructions, templates, and best practices. - Create onboarding materials, process maps, user guides, checklists, training presentations, and reference documentation related to BC Hydro project controls processes. - Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and continuous improvement. Reporting and Governance - Support the development and maintenance of portfolio reporting dashboards and performance metrics. - Coordinate monthly reporting activities at the project, and portfolio levels - Produce and distribute project controls reports for leadership. - Support forecasting, project prioritization based on project schedule and resource forecasting. BC Hydro Interface - Serve as the primary project controls interface between Stantec and BC Hydro for portfolio-wide project controls matters. - Coordinate with BC Hydro project controls, contract management, and project management personnel regarding schedules, reporting, forecasting, work package agreements, change management and portfolio performance. - Support responses to BC Hydro requests related to project controls and project performance reporting. Delivery Center Coordination and Training - Interface with Stantec’s Delivery Center leadership and resources to support project delivery requirements. - Coordinate onboarding and training plans for new resources supporting BC Hydro projects. - Train and mentor staff on BC Hydro-specific project controls, reporting requirements, project setup procedures, scheduling processes, and portfolio administration. - Support competency development of personnel until they can independently support BC Hydro projects. Education and Experience - Bachelor's degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in Engineering, Business, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field. - 10+ years of experience in project controls, cost control, scheduling, project administration, or project management support. - Experience supporting engineering and infrastructure projects. - Experience using Oracle and Primavera P6 is required. - Experience using data reporting/visualization platforms such as Power BI is considered an asset. - Experience working with BC Hydro or a similar utility is strongly preferred. Preferred Skills - Strong understanding of project scheduling, forecasting, cost control, and change management practices. - Excellent analytical and reporting skills. - Effective communication and stakeholder management capabilities. - Ability to train, mentor and influence multidisciplinary teams. - Strong process development and continuous improvement mindset. - Ability to work across geographically dispersed teams. \#EnergyAcceleration **Pay Range:** • Locations in Lower Mainland - BC, GTA & Ottawa Ontario-$111,700.00 - $167,600.00 Annually **Pay Transparency:** In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
