About the Developer Platform team 

The Developer Platform provides the platforms, automation, and engineering capabilities that enable software teams across CAE to deliver software faster, with higher quality, stronger cybersecurity, and an improved developer experience. 

Our mission is to scale software delivery through standardized workflows, reusable automation, self-service capabilities, AI-enabled engineering practices, and modern SDLC platforms. 

About the Platform Operations Squad 

The Platform Operations Squad is responsible for operating, supporting, and continuously improving the Developer Platform platforms and services. 

The team's goal is to reduce operational burden through automation, improve platform reliability and adoption, eliminate technical debt, and enable software teams to be more productive through scalable self-service solutions. 

 

Position Overview 

We are looking for a highly motivated software developer who is passionate about automation, platform engineering, and continuous improvement. 

More than a technology expert, we are looking for someone who is curious, driven, challenges the status quo, and actively seeks better ways of working. The ideal candidate combines strong software development skills with platform administration experience and the leadership mindset needed to help elevate the team and drive meaningful change. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Design, develop, and maintain platform services, automation solutions, and internal engineering tools. 

  • Improve and support Developer Platform platforms and SDLC tooling. 

  • Automate operational processes and eliminate manual work wherever possible. 

  • Develop self-service capabilities that improve developer productivity. 

  • Identify and reduce technical debt across platform solutions. 

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex platform and integration issues. 

  • Contribute to platform architecture, standards, and engineering best practices. 

  • Mentor teammates, share knowledge, and help grow the technical maturity of the team. 

  • Challenge existing processes and propose innovative solutions that improve efficiency and scalability.

  • Strong technical leadership and positive influence within the Platform Operations Squad.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in software development, platform engineering, DevOps, or a related field. 

  • Experience developing and maintaining production-grade applications or services. 

  • Experience with CI/CD and software development platforms. 

  • Experience building automation solutions and integrations. 

  • Strong understanding of software architecture, APIs, and development best practices. 

  • Experience working with cloud and container technologies. 

  • Experience with Terraform Cloud, Kubernetes/Openshift, Ansible, Github (including Github Copilot), Azure 

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with the following: 

  • Jira 

  • Artifactory 

  • Azure DevOps 

  • Service Now 

  • Infrastructure as Code 

  • Python, C#, Java, TypeScript, or similar languages 

  • PowerShell, Bash, or other scripting languages 

  • Monitoring and observability platforms 

  • AI-assisted software development tools
