Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Module Layout Specialist in the Engineering consulting industry in MIssissauga, Ontario. The Module Design Specialist is a senior structural engineering professional responsible for developing, coordinating, and integrating modular structural framing systems for heavy industrial projects. Working closely with the Modularization Lead, Layout Lead, and multidisciplinary teams, this role ensures modules are structurally sound and optimized for transportation, lifting, installation, and overall project execution. The position plays a key role in front-end studies and project delivery, driving practical, constructible, and cost-effective modular solutions that align with plant layouts and project objectives. Total rewards: $140000.00 - $190000.00 annually Build a Rewarding Long-Term Career Work with one of Canada's Top 3 Engineering Firms Pension Bonus Program A typical day: Lead the structural design and coordination of modular framing systems for heavy industrial projects. Develop modular structural concepts and solutions during front-end engineering and project planning phases. Apply advanced structural engineering principles to ensure module integrity during fabrication, transportation, lifting, and installation. Coordinate with layout, modularization, and multidisciplinary teams to integrate structural designs with overall project requirements. Incorporate constructability, logistics, transportation, and heavy-lift considerations into module designs. Support modular project execution by providing input to cost estimates, schedules, and execution strategies. Prepare and deliver technical presentations and collaborate directly with clients to align on design solutions. Lead and mentor technical teams while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, schedule, and budget performance. Successful candidates will have: 10+ years of structural engineering and design experience, with a strong focus on modular design for heavy industrial projects. Extensive experience designing modular structures for mining, oil & gas, petrochemical, offshore, marine, and energy sectors. Strong understanding of structural load paths and load transfer during module lifting, handling, and transportation. Proven ability to develop and coordinate modular designs across multiple engineering disciplines. Solid knowledge of project execution strategies and the impact of modularization on engineering and construction. Experience supporting front-end engineering studies, design coordination, and engineering management activities. Practical understanding of heavy-lift equipment, lifting systems, transportation methods, and ocean-going vessel constraints. Proficiency with 3D design platforms and Microsoft Office, with strong coordination and technical communication skills. This posting is for an active opening.
