Summary of responsibilities:

The Financial System Transition Strategist leads the implementation of CATSA’s next-generation financial system to ensure continuity of financial planning, operations, and reporting, to support long-term organizational needs. The role is accountable for overseeing all phases of the initiative and ensuring alignment with business requirements, governance expectations, internal controls, and operational priorities The position performs all other duties and responsibilities related to the position as required.

What you need to succeed

To qualify for the position, you must have:

•          University degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.

•          Experience leading large-scale system implementations or transformation initiatives.

•          Strong knowledge of financial processes, reporting requirements, and internal controls.

•          A minimum of six (6) years of progressive experience leading or supporting complex projects, business transformation initiatives, financial systems implementations, or other related initiatives.

•          Experience managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, timelines, and dependencies.

•          Demonstrated ability to analyze business needs and translate them into system and process requirements.

•          Experience identifying, monitoring, and managing project risks, issues, and interdependencies.

•          Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

•          Strong understanding of financial processes and related controls, with the ability to apply sound judgment to ensure compliance and integrity of financial information.

•          Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex financial and system-related issues and develop practical solutions.

•          Ability to manage complex projects, including prioritizing tasks, coordinating multiple activities, and meeting deadlines in a multi-stakeholder environment.

•          Ability to identify, assess, and manage risk, including project risks, operational risks, and control-related considerations.

•          Effective communication and presentation skills, including the ability to synthesize complex information and convey it clearly to senior management.

•          Ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders across functions, including Finance, Information Technology, Procurement, and external partners.

•          Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and interdependencies.

•          Ability to exercise sound judgment in a fair, objective, and consistent manner

Valuable skills include:

•          Professional accounting designation (CPA) or equivalent.

•          Experience with modern enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and the use of Artificial Intelligence within these systems or financial processes.

•          Knowledge of IT general controls (ITGCs) and system governance practices.

•          Knowledge of capital asset accounting, including capitalization, amortization, and asset lifecycle management.

•          Project management certification or formal training.

•          Experience supporting organizational change initiatives.

•       Ability to obtain and maintain a Reliability security clearance;
