Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Building Science/Structural Engineer in the Engineering Consultancy Sector in Victoria, British Columbia. Our client is seeking an entry-to-intermediate Structural/Building Science Engineer in Victoria, BC. The role combines structural design, building science, field investigations, product evaluations, testing, and code compliance work, with mentorship, career growth, and competitive benefits. A typical day: Design residential and small commercial building structures. Evaluate structural performance of building components for seismic and wind loads. Conduct site investigations of structural failures and develop remediation solutions. Perform structural calculations for beams, columns, walls, foundations, and connections. Prepare structural drawings using CAD software. Write code compliance reports and engineering technical design guides. Conduct product evaluations, testing, and analysis of building assemblies. Travel occasionally across Canada and the U.S. for site inspections and testing. Successful candidates will have: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution. 1 to 5 years of relevant engineering experience (co-op accepted). Registered EIT or P.Eng. with EGBC. Experience working with Canadian and U.S. building codes and standards. Hands-on construction, trades, fabrication, or related field experience. Proficiency with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, MS Word, and MS Excel. Strong technical writing, report preparation, and communication skills. Valid BC driver's license and access to a personal vehicle.
