In this role, you will gather, organize, and analyze technical information from various sources to prepare accurate and concise Maintenance & Operating Manuals and User Guides. You will conduct peer reviews for grammar, style, and content.
Duties & Responsibilities
Develop customer-facing documentation in support of our simulation products
Plan, research, write and edit hardware and software user documentation
Read and analyze schematics and engineering drawings, and bills of materials, etc.
Collaborate and interact with Product Specialist, Technical Authority, and Technical Instructors to gather data and verify content
Publish S1000D Interactive Electronic Technical Publications (IETPs).
Create and modify data modules (DM) in a CSDB environment.
Develop and maintain documents, templates and macros in Microsoft Office and Adobe tools.
Propose and implement improvements to documentation processes including with AI usage.
Stay current with evolving technology and industry trends and tools related to technical publications/communications.
Minimum Qualifications
University degree, college diploma, in Communications, Computer Science, or related field
3-5 years of experience as a Technical Writer
Excellent English oral and written communication skills, with an attention to detail and an aptitude for understanding and explaining technical information
Strong proficiency with Windows-based applications and tools (Arbortext, Word, Acrobat, SharePoint).
Knowledge of XML and HTML.
Understanding of content management systems and databases.
Knowledge of S1000D and aviation standards.
Basic knowledge of AI tools.
Familiarity with graphics and presentation software.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to create/modify documents, templates and macros in Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Acrobat an asset
Experience in technical illustrating (Adobe Illustrator, PTC IsoDraw and Microsoft PowerPoint) an asset
Technical experience in the aircraft industry an asset
Experience in technical publishing (PDF, HTML, XML).
