About the Opportunity
This permanent Property Manager opportunity is with a mission-driven non-profit housing organization focused on providing safe, affordable and supportive housing. Youll oversee the day-to-day operations of approximately 100 units, with the potential to support an additional building depending on portfolio size.
Reporting to the Senior Property Manager, youll lead a team of four maintenance and cleaning staff while working closely with social workers, community partners and tenants. This is a hands-on role for someone who combines strong property and financial management skills with empathy, sound judgment and confidence navigating sensitive tenant situations.
Whats In It for You
Youll earn $75,000 to $80,000 annually and join a collaborative workplace where your work directly supports housing stability and tenant well-being. Your Responsibilities
Youll oversee daily property operations, preventative maintenance, building walkthroughs, contractors, vacancies, unit turnovers and service agreements.
Youll lead and support maintenance and cleaning staff, helping ensure responsive, safe and consistent building operations.
Youll manage rent collection, arrears, subsidy administration, deposits and related financial coordination with the finance team.
Youll work directly with tenants to resolve concerns, including situations involving elevated emotions, using a calm and trauma-informed approach.
Youll collaborate with social workers and community partners to support successful tenancies and administer Rent-Geared-to-Income (RGI) and other subsidy programs.
Youll maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with applicable housing, health and safety requirements.
Skills and Qualifications
4+ years of property management or related experience, ideally within social, affordable or non-profit housing.
Experience working respectfully and effectively with vulnerable populations, including individuals who may have experienced trauma.
Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, housing regulations and health and safety standards.
Knowledge of RGI programs is strongly preferred, with willingness to complete required certification if needed.
Strong financial, rent administration, organizational and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and property management software, with Yardi experience considered an asset.
