About the Opportunity
This is a unique opportunity to support a province-wide compliance program focused on responsible retail practices. Working alongside an experienced compliance specialist, you’ll visit retail locations and help assess whether established age-verification procedures are being followed.

You’ll travel to assigned communities across British Columbia, complete brief mystery shopping visits, and accurately record your findings through an app. Travel is coordinated with and accompanied by the compliance specialist, so you do not need a vehicle or driver’s license.

This position is open to all qualified candidates. Due to the specific requirements of client's age-verification compliance program, individuals completing these assignments must be between 19 and 21 years of age at the time of the assignment. This requirement is specific to the testing methodology used for this program.

Your Responsibilities

• You’ll visit mapped retail locations throughout an assigned area, following a predetermined schedule and process.
• You’ll attempt designated purchases to assess whether retailers follow required age-verification procedures.
• You’ll follow specific instructions consistently to help ensure each assessment is fair and accurate.
• You’ll record the outcome of each visit promptly and accurately using a mobile app.
• You’ll work closely with a compliance specialist while travelling between locations and completing assignments.

Skills and Qualifications

• You have strong attention to detail and can reliably follow step-by-step instructions.
• You’re comfortable interacting with retail employees independently and professionally.
• You can accurately document observations and submit results through an app.
• You’re available for weekday travel, ideally for 2–4 consecutive days in September or October.
• Previous mystery shopping, retail, customer service, audit, or compliance experience is an asset, but not required.
• You’re comfortable travelling within British Columbia with an accompanying compliance specialist.
