About the Opportunity

Our client, a healthcare organization, is seeking a strategic and hands-on finance professional to help shape the future of its finance function. This is a unique opportunity to lead the transition from an outsourced accounting model to a fully in-house operation while building processes, systems, and reporting that support long-term organizational growth.

Working closely with the COO and executive leadership team, you'll play a key role in financial planning, operational decision-making, and expansion initiatives. If you're someone who enjoys creating structure, driving change, and making a meaningful impact in a patient-focused environment, this role offers both challenge and opportunity.

What's in it for You

  • Join an organization investing in growth, innovation, and the development of its internal finance function.
  • Collaborate with an engaged leadership team that values strategic thinking, continuous improvement, and meaningful contributions.

Your Responsibilities

  • You'll lead the transition of accounting operations from an outsourced provider to a fully in-house finance function, ensuring a smooth implementation of processes and controls.
  • You'll oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and variance analysis while ensuring compliance with ASPE/GAAP and regulatory requirements.
  • In this role, you'll manage the implementation of a new accounting system, including data migration, testing, training, and ongoing optimization.
  • You'll develop KPI dashboards, executive reporting, and financial models that support strategic planning and informed business decisions.
  • You'll strengthen internal controls, identify opportunities for process improvements, and support operational efficiencies across the organization.
  • You'll partner with the COO on expansion initiatives, including financial modelling, market research, capital planning, and investment analysis for new clinic locations.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, ideally within healthcare or another regulated environment.
  • CPA designation or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
  • Demonstrated experience leading finance transformation initiatives, including accounting system implementations or bringing finance functions in-house.
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cash management, and internal controls under ASPE/GAAP.
  • Excellent financial modelling, analytical, and business partnering skills with the ability to influence executive decision-making.
  • Bilingual in English and French would be considered an asset.
  • A collaborative, adaptable, and solutions-focused approach with a commitment to continuous improvement.
