About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced Insurance & Claims Analyst to join their Risk Management team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys analyzing contracts, reviewing insurance documentation, and supporting organizational risk management initiatives.

Working closely with internal departments, brokers, contractors, consultants, and external partners, you will play an important role in ensuring insurance requirements are met, claims are administered efficiently, and risk management practices are consistently applied. Your Responsibilities

  • You’ll review Certificates of Insurance (COIs), insurance policies, and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with organizational requirements and identify any deficiencies requiring follow-up.
  • You’ll assess contracts, agreements, and related insurance documentation to support effective insurance and risk management practices, ensuring appropriate coverage and contractual insurance requirements are met.
  • You’ll coordinate with internal teams, insurance brokers, contractors, consultants, insurers, and external stakeholders to resolve insurance-related matters and obtain required documentation.
  • You’ll support the administration and coordination of insurance claims while maintaining accurate claims records, correspondence, and supporting documentation.
  • You’ll maintain organized insurance files, including Certificates of Insurance (COIs), policies, contracts, claims records, renewals, and supporting documentation.
  • You’ll assist with insurance renewals, policy administration, certificate tracking, and data collection activities.
  • You’ll provide guidance on insurance requirements, certificate compliance, and contractual insurance obligations while supporting risk management initiatives.
  • You’ll prepare reports, monitor outstanding insurance requirements, follow up on expired or deficient certificates, and contribute to continuous process improvements.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in commercial insurance, insurance administration, risk management, claims administration, or a related insurance field.
  • Post-secondary education in Risk Management, Insurance, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Hands-on experience reviewing, issuing, or managing Certificates of Insurance (COIs), insurance policies, endorsements, and related insurance documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial insurance principles, Certificate of Insurance (COI) requirements, contractual risk transfer, policy interpretation, and insurance terminology.
  • Experience reviewing insurance requirements within contracts, vendor agreements, or service agreements to ensure compliance.
  • Experience coordinating directly with insurance brokers, carriers, contractors, consultants, and external stakeholders regarding insurance documentation and coverage requirements.
  • Claims administration or claims coordination experience is considered an asset.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build relationships across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; experience with insurance administration, claims management, or risk management systems is considered an asset.
