Purpose

 

Contributes to the overall success of Scotia Global Asset Management (SGAM) by leading strategic, cross-functional product initiatives, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. 

The Senior Manager, Product Initiatives will lead and/or co-lead high-impact initiatives including Cost of Ownership, pricing and fee strategy, data-driven initiatives, and other SGAM priorities as required. The role works closely with Product, Asset Management leadership, and key partners to translate strategy into execution with strong discipline, governance, and measurable outcomes.

 

What you will be doing:

 

  • Lead and/or co-lead strategic SGAM initiatives (e.g., Cost of Ownership, fee alignment, pricing strategy, Product initiative dashboard) translating business strategy into execution.
  • Own end-to-end delivery of initiatives including scope definition, planning, milestone tracking, risk management, and benefits realization.
  • Drive development and adoption of a centralized initiative dashboard to support decision-making, including pricing insights, competitor monitoring, and prioritization of actions.
  • Partner with stakeholders to develop data-driven recommendations (pricing, product strategy, cost optimization) supported by robust analysis and insights.
  • Lead executive reporting across initiatives, including dashboards, status updates, risks/issues, and presentations for senior leadership and governance forums.
  • Champion data governance, data quality and consistent data standards across SGAM, supporting the development of a centralized Product Data Hub that is integrated with the GWM data ecosystem. 
  • Drive adoption of advanced analytics and AI capabilities, identifying opportunities to improve decision-making and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain an understanding of the competitive best practices and emerging trends around strategies and tactics and ensure strategic initiatives continue to be competitive and support the business line’s objectives.
  • Analyze and provide insights on the impact of industry conditions, capital market environment, and competitor actions on the product shelf. 
  • Foster strong cross-functional partnerships (Technology, Risk, Legal, Marketing, Finance, Regulatory) to ensure aligned and efficient execution.
  • Ensure all initiatives align with the Bank’s risk appetite, governance standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Promote a high-performance culture focused on execution, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions, including disciplined oversight of risks and dependencies.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance,
  • AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk, supported by strong governance and control discipline.


Do you have the skills to enable you to be successful in this role? We would love to work with you if you have:

 

  • 7+ years of experience in financial services, asset management, or related field.
  • Strong experience leading strategic initiatives and cross-functional programs.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Data Analytics and Data Visualization Tools experience, Power BI skillset is a key asset
  • Experience using various data and research platforms such as Morningstar Direct and SimFund
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) 
  • Familiarity with AI concepts and Large Language Models is a key asset.
  • Excellent communication skills, including executive-level presentations.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Experience working in Agile or iterative delivery environments is an asset.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
