Purpose

 

Contributes to the overall success of SGAM by supporting product initiatives through data analysis, research, and reporting.

The Product Analyst plays a key tactical role in enabling data-driven decision-making across initiatives such as Cost of Ownership, pricing strategy, data governance, data visualization, and AI-related efforts. The role focuses on analytics, execution support, and continuous improvement of processes and tools.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Conduct analysis to support key initiatives (e.g., Cost of Ownership, pricing, competitor analysis, industry product trends).
  • Support development and maintenance of initiative and product dashboards (e.g., Power BI) providing real-time insights.
  • Gather, clean, and manage data from multiple sources to support a centralized Product Data Hub.
  • Monitor and track initiative progress against milestones and KPIs; highlight risks and gaps.
  • Support development of reports, presentations, and materials for stakeholders and leadership.
  • Maintain and manage external data sources (e.g., Morningstar) ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Identify opportunities to automate processes and improve data quality and efficiency.
  • Support AI-related initiatives through data preparation, use case identification, and testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners (Technology, Marketing, Risk, Finance, etc.) to execute initiatives.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions, including disciplined oversight of risks and dependencies.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the
  • Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk, supported by strong governance and control discipline.


Do you have the skills to enable you to be successful in this role? We would love to work with you if you have:

 

  • 3+ years of experience in asset management, product, or data analytics roles.
  • Undergraduate degree (Finance, Economics, Data, or related field).
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) 
  • Data Analytics and Data Visualization Tools experience, Power BI, SQL/Python skillset is a key asset
  • Familiarity with industry data tools (e.g., Morningstar Direct, SimFund) preferred.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
