Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Project Manager (156425) in the Utilities industry in Calgary, Alberta. Our client is seeking a Project Manager (P.Eng.) to support a strategic initiative focused on optimizing critical spare parts management across industrial generation assets. The role will develop and implement a risk-based approach to improve equipment reliability, reduce operational downtime, and optimize inventory investment. Working closely with Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Inventory teams, the Project Manager will establish standardized processes and long-term strategies for critical spare parts management across multiple sites. What's in it for you: $90.00 - $120.00 hourly Part-time (approximately 3/4 days per week) Initial 6-month contract with strong potential to extend into a 6–12+ month engagement Occasional travel to operational facilities required A typical day: Lead the development and execution of a company-wide critical spares management strategy to improve asset reliability, reduce operational risk, and optimize inventory investments. Conduct criticality assessments, reliability analyses, and risk evaluations to establish stocking levels, spare parts strategies, redundancy requirements, and mitigation plans for equipment failures. Drive inventory optimization initiatives by identifying standardization opportunities, shared inventory models, interchangeable components, and lifecycle/obsolescence management strategies across multiple sites. Partner with Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Inventory teams to enhance spare parts data quality, evaluate supplier risks, develop performance metrics and dashboards, and implement long-term reliability improvement programs. Lead cross-functional projects and present recommendations, risk assessments, and strategic roadmaps to senior leadership and key stakeholders. Successful candidates will have: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline and a Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Alberta or eligible for interprovincial registration. Minimum 7 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Asset Management/ Reliability Engineering/ Maintenance/ Project Management/ Supply Chain or Inventory Management Experience within power generation, utilities, energy, heavy industrial, manufacturing, or similar asset-intensive environments. Strong understanding of equipment reliability, maintenance programs, and asset lifecycle management. Experience leading cross-functional projects involving multiple stakeholder groups. Knowledge of risk assessment methodologies, lifecycle costing, and inventory optimization practices. Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Exposure to reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), criticality assessments, or spare parts optimization programs with experience supporting large-scale industrial or generation assets - Preferred This posting is for an active opening.
