Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer in the Engineering consulting industry in Burlington, Ontario. Our client’s team in Industrial & Infrastructure is growing; they are currently looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer HVAC and Building Services on a contract basis. Total rewards: $50.00 - $60.00 hourly 6-month contract to start Preferred rates for benefit coverage available A typical day: Work directly with clients/owners to develop project needs from initial concepts through implementation. Site visits and inspections during construction and communicate with contractors with regards to conformance to designs or added/amended scope Provide complete systems integration/commissioning Prepare P&ID and flow sheet diagrams, schematics and balances as they relate to HVAC, water, steam, condensate, hydronic and compressed air systems and other building services systems. Proficient in Industrial and Building HVAC and air movement systems, as well, building utilities design such as steam, condensate, cold and hot water, chilled water, cooling tower systems and associated piping distribution networks. Proficient in pump design and selection, fire suppression systems, storm and sanitary piping designs, compressed air, and other specialty process piping network designs. Specify and select equipment and systems for purchase. Prepare cost estimates for engineering work and/or capital expenditures. Organize, plan, schedule, budget engineering, drafting, and design work. Lead the design of systems by providing input to designers for layouts including equipment, systems, instruments and controls, etc. related to building services. Successful candidates will have: 5 to 10 years' related experience in Industrial, Building and Public Infrastructure HVAC along with an engineering or applied science degree. Registration as a Professional Engineer (PEO) in ON Proficient in the use of heating and cooling software such as Carrier HAP. Knowledge in governing applicable codes and regulations pertaining to required systems experience noted above Ability to coordinate with other disciplines such as structural and electrical in the execution of the design work. Strong written and verbal communication skills Possess a valid driver’s license and able to travel independently to client sites for meetings and inspections This posting is for an active opening.
