About the Opportunity

Altis Recruitment is proud to partner with a public sector organization experiencing a significant increase in Access to Information requests. This short-term ATIP Officer opportunity will play a critical role in ensuring legislated timelines are met during a peak period of demand.

You’ll join a small, knowledgeable Privacy and ATIP team and step in as a true ATI processor. This role is highly execution-focused and ideal for a seasoned professional who knows the Access to Information Act inside and out and can immediately take ownership of complex files with minimal ramp-up.

Your Responsibilities

• You’ll independently process high-volume and complex Access to Information requests from start to finish under strict legislative timelines.
• You’ll gather, review, and analyze large record sets, including files with thousands of pages.
• You’ll apply ATI exemptions accurately and confidently, demonstrating strong working knowledge of relevant sections of the Act.
• You’ll perform document review and redaction using the organization’s ATIP processing system.
• You’ll support expedited processing during peak demand periods, ensuring quality and compliance are never compromised.

Skills and Qualifications

• 10+ years of direct experience processing Access to Information requests under the Access to Information Act.
• Proven experience managing high-volume files and complex requests with tight deadlines.
• Deep, hands-on knowledge of ATI exemptions and legislative interpretation.
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and immediate productivity.
• Strong attention to detail and sound judgment when handling sensitive information.
• Active Secret Level Security Clearance, or eligibility to obtain one quickly.
