The role

 

As a Sr Manager Commercial Engineering, leading a group of technology professionals responsible for development, support and delivery of technological solutions for Commercial and Corporate Baking systems We are looking to fill our team with forward thinking individuals who embrace change, are passionate about their profession, are flexible, curious, continuous learners and who want to achieve challenging goals and have long-lasting impact on our customers and the Bank

 

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

 

  • Leads a team of Software developers ensuring delivery of project in a quality and timely manner.
  • May involve rapid prototyping, with requirements and solutions developed on an iterative basis that provide interim deliverables until a final production solution is created.
  • Manages major, multi-disciplinary projects to implement and deliver solutions to business problems.
  • Participate in the architecture definition and planning, securing, and scheduling resources from development perspective.
  • Build and manage cohesive software architecture & data governance standards, artifacts, roadmaps, and providing technical direction for the applications assigned to your portfolio.
  • Ensure best practices are followed in design and development, documentation and tools needed to support the various projects and existing production systems.
  • Understands and co-work with 3rd parties to deliver solutions according to specifications.
  • Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues
    • effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas,
    • ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations for –
      • Operational risk, regulatory compliance risk,
      • AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management
      • Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework,
      • AML/ATF Global Handbook and
      • Guidelines for Business Conduct.
  • Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates the team (direct reports and indirect teams) by fostering an inclusive work environment, communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team.
  • Occasionally travel may be required.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?  

We’d love to work with you if you have:

 

  • 5+ years in development Management, software development and IT industry work experience, with clear progression through ranks.
  • Strong technical people management skills to drive them to succeed in projects implementation.
  • Must be a strong technical leader with excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills to build teamwork.
  • Disciplined in up to date development methodologies and familiar with software development technologies and concepts.
  • Practical experience with systems design and specification for large scale applications.
  • Knowledge and Experience in Commercial Banking and 3r Party Co-work.
