What you will be doing: 

Tangerine is looking for a motivated and strategically-minded Senior Mobile Product Owner to drive the development of our next generation mobile banking experience.

Reporting to the Director – Digital Product & Experience, you will be responsible for defining, managing and optimizing key areas of our mobile banking platform and play a pivotal role in enhancing the overall customer experience. You will lead and inspire an agile team, and work in close collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high quality innovative product features, user centric solutions, and seamless customer interactions.

 

Is this role right for you? - In this role you will:

 

  • Develop the vision and roadmap for owned areas, and create/maintain a detailed product backlog; end-to-end ownership of various mobile platform offerings
  • Apply incremental delivery principles, drive the delivery of business value, communicate progress, elicit feedback and enable stakeholder reviews for validation in the process
  • Play a leadership role in the delivery team you are leading to ensure that high quality and creative solutions are implemented for challenging problems
  • Facilitate creative problem solving on a day-to-day basis no matter the circumstances, working closely with development on implementation challenges, turning ambiguity into clarity in a fast-paced environment
  • Engage and partner with key stakeholders to support common understanding and vision across the organization
  • Communicate with the business stakeholders and take responsibility for building “the right thing”
  • Use KPIs and digital product metrics to inform the team’s direction
  • Lead cross-functional teams to conceptualize, define and implement new features
  • Author, refine and approve backlog items, with clearly articulated “definitions of done”
  • Prioritize user stories to best achieve business goals, ensuring sufficient depth of groomed items for development consumption and commitment
  • Ensure user stories are clearly defined and the team understands the scope and expectation of work

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:

 

  • University or College degree
  • 7+ years related experience in digital product management or technical solution delivery
  • 3+ years experience with mobile platforms
  • 3+ years working in an agile scrum team in a Product Owner capacity
  • Design or BA experience is an asset
  • Working knowledge of software/ mobile application development is an asset
  • An Agile “mindset” and the flexibility to adapt to new and evolving environments
  • Excellent delivery skills, with proven accomplishments leading cross-functional projects
  • Data-driven approach to problem solving to resolve complex issues and drive actionable outcomes
  • Deep passion for first class customer experiences, innovation and delivering software
  • A positive attitude, thirst for knowledge, team oriented, pragmatic, willing to fail
  • Enthusiastic, thorough, inclusive and results-oriented; ability and desire to help others thrive in a dynamic team-oriented environment.
  • Eager to mentor, teach, share and learn
