As the Care and Preservation Warranty Specialist, you are responsible for ensuring that products are properly maintained during storage, transportation, and pre-delivery phases, as well as for managing warranty claims related to preservation-related issues throughout various stages of the Polar Max project. This role combines technical expertise, quality assurance, and customer service to minimize damage and quality degradation before product delivery, while also managing and analyzing warranty data to drive improvements. More specifically you will:

 

  • Develop and implement care and preservation procedures and checklists to protect products during transportation and storage, in line with the various original equipment manufacturers’ (OEM) recommendations.
  • Prepare the care and preservation program for shipboard equipment during the construction period.
  • Adhere at all times with internal health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies.
  • Inspect products at various stages (post-manufacturing, pre-delivery, etc.) to ensure preservation measures are effective.
  • Investigate and analyze warranty claims related to storage, handling, and environmental conditions.
  • Collaborate with logistics, quality, and production teams to ensure preservation protocols are followed.
  • Serve as the technical expert for warranty issues related to rust, corrosion, fluid degradation, and other environmental damage.
  • Work with suppliers and service partners to resolve warranty-related issues efficiently.
  • Monitor trends in warranty data and prepare reports for management, identifying root causes and recommending preventive measures.
  • Support field service teams with technical expertise on preservation-related concerns.

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • Third-class Marine Engineer certification;  seagoing experience preferred. 
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in quality, warranty, or service engineering, preferably in manufacturing or automotive environments.
  • Availability for regular travel to Helsinki Shipyard in Finland, from 2026 to late 2027.
  • Proven experience on a variety of systems on numerous types of vessels.
  • Strong knowledge of corrosion control, rust prevention, packaging standards, and environmental storage impacts.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or equivalent quality standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills across departments and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Proficiency in French and English (written and spoken). Fluency in English is required for this position, as you will interact with English-speaking suppliers, stakeholders or clients.
