What you'll do

Responsibilities

You will be joining a team of Principals leading campuses throughout the province. As Principal of Ivany Campus, you will work closely with the Vice-Principal and provide strategic and operational leadership for the campus, fostering an inclusive, student-centered culture while strengthening partnerships with industry, community and government. This is a leadership opportunity for an experienced, collaborative executive who is passionate about advancing student success, equity, innovation and community impact.

We are looking for a senior leader to create a dynamic environment for the people who learn and work at NSCC's Ivany Campus. You will need to be equally adept at inspiring people to do their best; community relations; fiscal management; human resources management; and operational planning resulting in the delivery of excellent post-secondary education steeped in equity and belonging. Providing daily leadership to more than 2,400 students and a diverse staff group in excess of 340 will require outstanding communication and team-building skills. Fortunately, you have been honing these skills all your working life.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

  • You have a graduate degree and at least ten (10) years of relevant occupational experience, preferably in a post-secondary institution. Experience working with diverse communities is a key asset.

  • You have recent experience in a senior leadership role within a complex organization leading a large, high-functioning team and the ability to work effectively and build strong relationships within a complex, matrix-based organization, demonstrating comfort with ambiguity and change. Experience managing in a unionized environment is an asset.

  • You are a highly collaborative leader who builds and motivates teams to do amazing things.

  • You can manage multiple projects and objectives, while building and realizing a vision for the Ivany Campus of NSCC.

  • You have a passion for helping people achieve their dreams through adult education and life-long learning. And you are looking for the challenge of a lifetime.

  • You possess demonstrated experience in analysis and preparation of complex data, financial metrics and reporting to various levels of stakeholders.

  • High level of proficiency in a digital environment, including the full Microsoft Office suite.

  • Demonstrated fiscal accountability with proven ability to effectively manage an operating budget.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of adult education.
