Your Opportunity
The Contracts Review Specialist works closely with Stantec's lawyers, Project Managers, and project staff. The successful candidate will provide assistance and expertise in reviewing, drafting and negotiating contract terms for professional services according to Stantec policies.
Your Key Responsibilities
Reviewing, drafting and negotiating contract documents and request for proposals according to Stantec legal and other policies.
Identifying and communicating to project staff the negotiation items and other contract issues that must be resolved between Stantec and their clients, subconsultants and contractors prior to the execution of all contracts.
Assisting with the negotiation of contractual issues with Stantec clients when requested.
Reviewing and analyzing contract exceptions and modifications submitted by Stantec's clients.
Customizing standard contract forms for specific projects when necessary.
Keeping management informed of contract negotiation status and issues.
Entering contract information and other data into database.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (including Access, Word, Excel, and Outlook) is required.
The ability to communicate, verbally and in writing, at a professional-level English. Professional-level French language proficiency would be considered an asset.
The position requires excellent proof-reading skills, keen attention to detail, and ability to quickly learn new concepts.
In addition to the above responsibilities, candidate must have a ‘can-do' philosophy and be prepared to assist with other administration tasks when necessary.
Education and Experience
2 years’ experience in contract work or comparative formal education
Minimum educational achievement equivalent to graduation from high school, with significant work experience in professional services or construction contracts.
Legal Assistant, Paralegal, or legal formal education would be an asset.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.

Pay Range:
• Locations in PEI-$49,400.00 - $69,200.00 Annually
• Locations Outside of Lower Mainland - BC & Various locations in Ontario-$54,900.00 - $76,900.00 Annually
• Locations in Lower Mainland - BC, GTA & Ottawa Ontario-$58,200.00 - $81,500.00 Annually
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
