The Team

A Technical Analyst Advisory (Mortgage Backed Securities and  Securitization) is a hybrid role that combines business analysis, technical analysis, application support, data analysis, and development support. The role acts as a bridge between business stakeholders, IT teams, infrastructure teams, and external vendors to support the delivery, maintenance, enhancement, and stability of enterprise applications.

The Role

This role requires the ability to understand business needs, analyze system functionality, troubleshoot production issues, work with data and SQL, support system integrations, coordinate releases, and contribute to technical solutions. The individual should be comfortable working across both business and technology teams and should be able to support coding, scripting, testing, documentation, and production validation activities.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

 

  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for system enhancements, fixes, reporting needs, and operational improvements.
  • Translate business needs into clear functional and technical specifications.
  • Work with structured data including database tables, CSV files, reporting views, stored procedures, extracts, and reconciliation outputs.
  • Validate reports and system outputs against source data, business rules, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Perform data mapping, data profiling, variance analysis, and reconciliation between systems.
  • Analyze application workflows, data structures, business rules, interfaces, and downstream dependencies.
  • Work with business users to understand issues, process gaps, and enhancement opportunities.
  • Partner with developers, QA teams, vendors, and infrastructure teams to ensure requirements are properly understood and implemented.
  • Build strong relationships and communicate effectively with colleagues across global regions.
  • Support development activities by writing, reviewing, and troubleshooting SQL queries, scripts, validation logic, and technical documentation.
  • Assist with analysis of stored procedures, reporting logic, data extracts, batch jobs, and integration processes.
  • Develop or support small-scale automation, data validation routines, file checks, and reconciliation processes.
  • Review technical designs and help assess impacts across applications, data flows, and reporting outputs.
  • Collaborate with development teams to investigate defects, validate fixes, and confirm expected system behavior.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • Strong business analysis and technical analysis skills.
  • Ability to understand both business processes and technical system behavior.
  • Proficiency in SQL, data analysis, reporting validation, and troubleshooting database-driven applications.
  • Ability to write or support scripts, queries, validation routines, and automation logic.
  • Understanding application architecture, system integrations, APIs, file transfers, batch processes, and reporting layers.
  • Experience with production support, root cause analysis, issue management, and incident resolution.
  • Experience with release management, change control, UAT coordination, and production deployment support.
  • Strong data validation, reconciliation, and reporting oversight skills.
