The Global Wealth Engineering (GWE) team is continuously modernizing and enhancing the client and account onboarding platforms for Scotia Wealth Management. Our group consists of several agile teams working closely together to deliver, support, and maintain the client and account onboarding systems to provide the best client experience. 

 

The team is searching for a client-focused PEGA architect and engineer who is motivated to design and develop components of enterprise applications and providing consultative guidance on all project assignments. You will work as part of a team to ensure that the business and technical architecture of the delivered solution matches business requirements.  You will be asked to implement various aspects of design and development while working with architects, developers, key business stakeholders, various technical support teams across the Bank, regulatory and compliance groups, and senior leadership.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

 

  • Lead by example in designing, developing, testing, and implementing scalable, performant, and secure PEGA Platform solutions for internal and external-facing business workflows.
  • Establish and maintain coding standards, design guidelines, and best practices across the engineering team.
  • Build and extend PEGA Constellation UI and case-driven experience, leveraging PEGA’s low code architecture, rules engine, and reusable components.
  • Implement integrations using PEGA DX APIs, REST services, and event-driven patterns to connect PEGA workflows with upstream and downstream enterprise systems.
  • Apply PEGA best practices across case management, data modeling, decisioning, and integration rules, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards.
  • Collaborate with architects, product owners, and other engineers to deliver high-quality solutions following Agile methodologies.
  • Contribute to PEGA DevOps and CI/CD pipeline development, including automated testing, and deployment strategies.
  • Ensure security-first principles in all development, including secure API design, encryption, and identity management.
  • Challenge the status quo and provide logical and rational feedback on business requirements to ensure quality and value throughout the SDLC.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize applications for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
  • Work at the highest level of systems development / coding while maintaining a strong knowledge of Wealth Management business strategies and applications.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
  • 8+ years of hands-on PEGA platform experience, delivering enterprise-scale workflow and case-management solutions on PEGA Infinity 25.1 or later.
  • Strong proficiency in:
    • Front-End: Constellation UI, Headless UI architecture (React/NextJS)
    • Back-End: DX API, event-driven patterns (Kafka)
    • Databases: SQL (PostgreSQL, SQL MI), NoSQL (MongoDB).
    • Containerized Environment Deployments:
      • Microsoft Azure: Kubernetes Services, Key Vault
    • DevOps & CI/CD: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bitbucket, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform.
    • Security: SSL/TLS, OAuth2, JWT, vulnerability scanning tools (Fortify, BlackDuck).
    • Monitoring & Observability: Splunk, Dynatrace, or equivalent.
  • Ability to design PEGA solutions that are cloud-portable and SaaS-ready, minimizing customizations and infrastructure dependencies to support future migration to SaaS.
  • Experience with Agile development practices and modern SDLC.
  • Certifications:
    • CSA: Certified PEGA System Architect
    • CSSA: Certified PEGA Senior System Architect
    • CSLA: Certified PEGA Lead System Architect

 

The Following Skills Would Be an Additional Asset

  • Experience with advanced security concepts and compliance frameworks.
  • Understanding of wealth management domain and financial services integration patterns.
  • Certifications:
    • CPDC: Certified PEGA Decisioning Consultant
