The Business Systems Analyst is a key contributor with knowledge in a broad range of business and technology processes.  The BSA requires broad knowledge of business processes, interdependencies between upstream and downstream consumers, and regulatory drivers within the domain.

The BSA will work with our technology partners and business clients to formulate and define requirements/use cases, map business processes and be able to communicate to the requirements throughout development, testing and implementation. 

The incumbent will be a self-starter and be able to work independently with little or no supervision.  They will demonstrate strong communication skills, a client focused mindset, and take accountability and ownership of tasks.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

 

  • Collaborates with business partners, developers and vendors to ensure the successful delivery of projects that align with business strategies and roadmaps.
  • The Business Analysis team participates in end-to-end project delivery including creation of user stories, coordination and management of project stakeholders, root cause analysis, IST/QAT testing, steady state support model and post implementation support.
  • Analyzes tickets and inquiries from business units and undertakes the required steps for resolution
  • Ability to articulate and write clear and concise documentation for complex technical problems or solutions in a business-friendly language.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks to meet the tight project timelines and prioritize the work efforts accordingly
  • Work as a liaison among various business and technology teams to ensure strategic alignment for the solutions being considered/implemented
  • The BSA collaborates with project team to influence change transformation initiatives at all levels of the organization and possesses strong project management capabilities to ensure effective and successful delivery of process efficiency solutions.
  • Understands the business from several points of view and aligns technology systems and processes to address critical information and automation requirements.
  • A strong understanding of the SDLC process and various delivery methodologies including waterfall and agile.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to focus with close attention to detail

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:

 

  • 3+ years of experience working as a business analyst, business systems analyst or related field
  • Ability to operate, adapt and pivot in a demanding, dynamic environment, multiple tasks, competing priorities, working with numerous partners and tight deadlines. 
  • Good understanding of current technology practices, systems development techniques, including requirements specification and testing methodologies, and keep current with rapidly changing technology to effectively apply technology to the solution of a business problem.  
  • Ability to adapt at working in both Agile and traditional Waterfall SDLC methodologies. 
  • Working knowledge of data concepts, including relational databases, SQL queries, data mapping, and data analysis
  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Sciences, or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal/written/presentation).
