The role:


The Senior Delivery Manager Technical Writing, Enterprise Delivery Office supports Director-level leadership in the end-to-end delivery of projects within the Enterprise Delivery Office (EDO) Office of the CIO portfolio. This role brings technical writing expertise to Audit and regulatory remediation projects and drives increased quality of risk remediation project deliverables and achieve greater alignment with QA processes, Internal Audit and regulatory expectations.

The Senior Manager partners closely with delivery teams to ensure technical writing requirements within programs are delivered within scope, timeline, and budget, while progressively maturing delivery practices and ways of working.

 


What will you do?

 

  • Project Delivery: Lead day-to-day planning and execution of technical writing requirements for regulatory remediation projects within the OCIO portfolio ensuring alignment to approved objectives, milestones, and delivery plans.
  • Collaborate with project teams to create subject specific documentation to fulfill the remediation requirements of regulatory issues; including process narratives, closure packages, governance documents, procedures documents and process flow diagrams.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Work closely with business, technology, and delivery partners to gather information, clarify concepts and ensure documentation accuracy, and manage project expectations, dependencies, and deliverables.
  • Agile & Delivery Practices: Support delivery within Agile, hybrid, or waterfall environments and contribute to continuous improvement of delivery standards and practices.
  • Quality & Controls:
  • Ensure adherence to Enterprise Delivery Frameworks, technology standards, audit requirements, and regulatory obligations.
  • Work closely with project teams to ensure clarity and consistency of documents, and adherence to style guides and brand standards, including version control and content management systems. 
  • Drive standardized and consistent technical writing practices across delivery of all regulatory remediation programs
  • Change & Priority Management: Support scope, schedule, and priority changes by analyzing impacts and facilitating informed trade-off decisions.
  • Risk Culture: Understand and apply the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture in day-to-day decision-making and delivery activities.
  • Values & Conduct: Promote effective and efficient operations aligned with Scotiabank’s Values, Code of Conduct, and operational risk expectations.

What do you need to succeed?

 

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of experience as a knowledge management specialist or lead technical writer, preferably within financial services or large enterprises with specific experience in OCIO
  • Experience in working on large regulatory remediation programs, creating process narratives and closure packages in alignment with regulatory requirements
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience with industry standard documentation or knowledge management tools (e.g., SharePoint, Teams, Confluence), preferably within the financial services industry
  • Experience with content management systems, such as Confluence, SharePoint, or GitHub, expert level knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills. Ability to create clear, concise, and engaging content for various audiences. Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong research and interviewing skills to gather information and clarify technical concepts. Meticulous attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality documentation.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines.  Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Knowledge of industry frameworks such as COBIT, NIST, FFIEC is an asset.
