Contributes to the overall success of the Transaction Services Canadian Banking Engineering team, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.  Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

 

  • Coordinate and support day to day development team  activities as per the BNS policies/processes for critical retail payments core applications
  • Coordinate work in accordance with project implementation schedules
  • Pro-actively plan and manage diverse projects that differ in size and scope from their inception to delivery overseeing execution
  • Collaborate and plan work activities with application and support partners BNS (Release Management, GSOC, Kyndryl, QAT, etc.)
  • Work with the team and stakeholder to  prioritize optimal value delivery within agreed upon timeframes  
  • Interact with stakeholders to collaborate, align and resolve issues
  • Lead the team with a continuous improvement mindset, actively promote inclusivity and trust, promote an environment of curiosity and experimentation   
  • Guide the team in adopting new ways of working, exploring enhancement in ways that align with the Bank’s strategic priorities while enabling the Agile mindset/framework
  • Off hours work is required to coordinate and facilitate releases, and support delivery and deployment activities , as well for production support/issues when the team gets paged
  • Act with urgency and criticality, evaluate problems blockers and bottlenecks, identify actions to be taken, assist the team to recommend/implement solutions

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

 

  • Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science or technical equivalent
  • Minimum 4+ years’ experience in Software Delivery and minimum 4+ years' of Mainframe/Host/Cloud development
  • Hands on experience using Agile framework and working in an agile environment
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Capable of multi-tasking and managing concurrent tasks and initiatives
  • Operate with a sense of urgency and determination  
  • Results driven; forward thinking with a problem solving mentality
  • Comfortable working in highly collaborative and changing environment
  • Must be reliable, pro-active, customer-focused, attentive to details, and a team player 
  • Excellent communication skills,  positive attitude with a strong commitment to
