The Team

 

 As part of the Market Risk Technology team, you will contribute to the enhancement of our market and security risk platforms. You will help improve reporting and analytics capabilities and support the delivery of high‑availability applications that meet Global Risk Management and regulatory requirements.

 

 

The Role

 

The Technical Business Analyst acts as a key liaison between business stakeholders and the development team.

The primary objective of this role is to translate business needs into detailed technical specifications. The mandate involves supporting the full software development lifecycle, ensuring that solutions are designed, developed, and implemented to meet strategic business objectives and regulatory obligations.

This position is responsible for requirements elicitation, solution analysis, and process improvement to enhance reporting and analytics capabilities.

  •  Contribute to the analysis, design, delivery, and testing of solutions that meet evolving business needs within a fast‑paced and highly regulated banking environment, including documentation of requirements and design decisions.
  • Develop foundational design artifacts such as use cases, process models, and data flow diagrams to clearly articulate system functionality and end‑to‑end workflows.
  • Work with a range of technologies to implement new capabilities or enhance existing systems, ensuring robust solution design and adherence to established technology standards, controls, and best practices.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to identify technology solutions that align with strategic objectives and operational needs.
  • Take ownership of assigned deliverables, driving work forward with initiative and sound judgment while managing competing priorities effectively.
  • Apply strong attention to detail while maintaining an understanding of the broader system landscape to ensure cohesive and scalable solutions.
  • Monitor applications, respond to user inquiries, and support the resolution of production issues.
  • Collaborate with technology teams to ensure application, integration, infrastructure, and security designs align with standards for reliability, scalability, performance, and availability.

 

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:

 

  • Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field, with 5+ years of progressive IT experience.
  • Strong understanding of capital markets products (FX, Fixed Income, Equity, Commodities) and familiarity with market data and security master data.
  • Foundational understanding of valuation and market risk management concepts; knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as FRTB is an asset.
  • Professional designations such as CFA or FRM are considered strong assets.
  • Experience with both agile and waterfall delivery frameworks and practical knowledge of the software development lifecycle.
  • Proven experience in requirements elicitation, analysis, solution design, and testing; familiarity with design techniques (Use Cases, Process Modelling, Data Flow Diagrams, Sequence Diagrams).
  • Strong data analysis skills, including SQL and Excel.
  • Experience with Unix and scripting languages (shell, Python) is an asset.
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities and the capability to clearly document processes and findings.
  • General experience supporting systems or applications in a production environment.
