The Role:
The Senior Cloud Engineer, Infrastructure as Code within Cloud Platform Engineering at Scotiabank Canada is a senior individual contributor role focused on accelerating and enabling enterprise-wide cloud adoption through strong engineering practices, reusable infrastructure patterns, and cross team collaboration.
This role is aligned under the Cloud Product organization and operates horizontally across Cloud Engineering verticals rather than being embedded in a single focus delivery team. You will work across Azure and GCP, integrating with multiple delivery models and closely working with the CIO‑aligned teams consuming our patterns to better help them operationalize secure, scalable, and compliant Cloud solutions. You will help to bridge gaps with CIO teams, prioritizing and meeting their needs that in turn improves cloud platform engineering reach and adoptability.
Rather than owning a single platform, service, or execution lane, Senior Cloud Engineers in this role are expected to apply sound engineering judgment across a variety of problem spaces; balancing standards, delivery realities, and evolving platform capabilities.
