Leads all change management, communications and engagement efforts for the Chief Technology Officer. Ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

The Director plays a key role in aligning the Bank’s vision, strategy, and priorities by building and managing constructive relationships across the senior leaders, driving critical deliverables and overseeing change management, communications and engagement activities.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

 

  • Identify key transformation impacts across people / processes / technology, defines and leads plans for organizational change and enablement, mitigation approaches to minimize impacts, and communicate the change. 
  • Facilitate the development and design of organizational enablement and change strategy aligned to the Bank’s must win priorities, and overall ScotiaTech strategy.
  • Serve as an in-house change management SME providing counsel and expertise to leaders and program partners. Drive the identification of barriers to change and collaborate with senior leaders to mitigate resistance. 
  • Identify and engage key partners in the Cloud, Data & AI journey (Business & Technology) to ensure coordinated delivery success 
  • Support CTO programs by advising on strategic initiatives and process improvements. Contribute to metrics and reporting to ensure priorities remain on track and report ongoing results to Senior Leadership. 
  • Responsible for communication support across Chief Technology officer including Data & AI, Cloud, and Enterprise Architecture 
  • Craft a clear transformation narrative to support the rationale for the changes, beginning by formulating a point of view based on input from program sponsors and existing documentation of the vision, mission, strategy and transformation OKRs.
  • Craft and deliver on communications plan for key messages targeted at impacted stakeholder groups. Includes internal knowledge of existing communications deployment methods that can be used to send stakeholder communications (e.g. email newsletters, townhalls etc.) 
  • Support external initiatives and coordination with Talent Marketing and video and design services for CTO content 
  • Provide change and communications support and council across the CTO portfolios to operationalize efficiencies and enable higher performance outcomes. Draft executive messages, communications and decks.  
  • Partners with HR to drive strategies and execution to support employee engagement and culture change evolution.
  • Support the coordination, communications and execution of large-scale Cloud, Data & AI transformation initiatives (Hackathon, Tech Events, Hiring events) 
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. 
  • Creates an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. 
  • Builds a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the team. 

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

 

  • Proven experience enabling the delivery of highly complex, matrixed strategies within the technology space  
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience leading change for large enterprise IT programs with a proven track record of success. 
  • Outstanding writing and communications skills, incl. experience producing C-suite materials  
  • Previous experience leading the creation, communication, and sustainment of reporting functions including benchmarking, KPI development, and reporting at the executive level 
  • Experience supporting Employee focused initiatives and communications to drive a culture of inclusion and engagement. 
  • Prosci or Change Management certified. 
  • Project Management experience  
  • Understanding of Cloud or Data & AI Technology (asset) 
  • Performance and results oriented leadership skills 
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously
