Performs planning, problem-solving, and advising technical teams to optimize solutions that are strategic, operational, secure and economical. Ensures an integrated architecture across interdependent technology systems including a combination of on-premises and cloud environments.
Designs and delivers architecture solutions supporting Personal and Business Banking initiatives, across both digital (web/mobile) and assisted (contact centre/branch) channels, ensuring seamless and consistent customer experiences.
Applies Artificial Intelligence (AI) and cloud-native architectures to enable personalization, automation, and scalability across banking platforms.
Evaluates and mitigates fraud risks, cybersecurity threats, and security exposures by embedding secure-by-design principles aligned with enterprise risk and compliance frameworks.
Collaborates with business and technology stakeholders to ensure architecture decisions incorporate fraud prevention, identity protection, and data security considerations throughout the solution lifecycle.
Creates and manages key architecture assets for the designated portfolio and business scope.
Creates technical design recommendations aligned to standards for development and integration of new products, services, applications, and technology solutions.
Identifies risks or issues with technology solution and design that may impact realization of project benefits; guides and supports stakeholders to make decisions that proactively resolve or mitigate potential project risks/delays.
Participates in the system specification review process to ensure system requirements can be translated into valid software architecture.
Identifies and researches relevant technologies, performs proofs of concept / prototypes, and recommends the applications of such technologies for future product architecture.
Delivers innovative solutions tailored to the specific needs of the organization.
Provides input into the preparation of business case by providing key architectural insights on feasibility, risks, and alignment with enterprise strategy
Stays abreast of industry technical and business trends through participation in professional associations, practice communities, and individual learning.
Oversees complex projects and cross-domain initiatives across several teams.
Integrates diverse systems to align with overall business strategies and enterprise goals.
Plays a pivotal role in architecting scalable, sustainable, and compliant solutions.
Operates at a group/enterprise-wide level and serves as a specialist resource to senior leaders and stakeholders.

Qualifications:
5+ years of Solution Architect experience in a large, enterprise-level environment
5+ years of software development experience (Angular, Java, Node.js, etc.)
Strong understanding of service-oriented architecture, databases, and data modeling techniques
Strong experience with real-time and batch interface design and implementations
Strong understanding of the TOGAF framework
End-to-end enterprise solutioning (frontend to enterprise services to product systems/3rd party)
AI knowledge/experience
AWS/Azure cloud knowledge/experience
Internet-facing application security controls
Breadth of communication protocols
Strong experience designing and implementing microservices
Strong experience with SOAP/XML and RESTful/JSON schema design and implementation
Security concepts
Experience designing and scaling applications

Understanding of the strategic technical direction of middleware, continuous integration and deployment, testing, systems management, enterprise data & access layers, and computing styles
