About the Opportunity
Are you a detail-oriented finance professional who enjoys keeping processes organized and running smoothly? We are recruiting for a Finance Assistant to support a collaborative finance team within a national member-based organization. This role plays an important part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting payroll administration, coordinating reporting activities, and helping ensure key finance processes are completed efficiently and accurately.
Working closely with finance leadership and internal stakeholders, you will contribute to budgeting, audits, committee administration, and employee record management. Your Responsibilities
You'll provide administrative and coordination support to finance leadership, including scheduling, document management, and deadline tracking
You'll assist with bank and credit card reconciliations while maintaining supporting financial records and documentation
You'll support payroll, leave, benefits, and pension administration by collecting, organizing, and verifying employee information
You'll help coordinate monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial processes, including reports, reconciliations, and audit documentation
You'll assist with budget preparation by maintaining templates, tracking submissions, and organizing supporting materials
You'll coordinate logistics and documentation for Finance and Audit Committee meetings, including meeting packages and draft minutes
You'll maintain confidential financial, employee, vendor, and committee records while ensuring compliance with established procedures
Skills and Qualifications
4 years of experience in financial administration, accounting support, full cycle payroll processing, office administration, or a related field
College diploma or certificate in accounting, finance, business administration, office administration, or a related discipline
Fluency in both English and French, with strong written and verbal communication skills
Working knowledge of accounting principles, payroll administration support, reconciliations, and financial recordkeeping
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, document management, and financial reporting
Proficiency with spreadsheets, word processing software, email, databases, and financial systems
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and work effectively both independently and within a team
