About the Opportunity

We are partnering with a growing organization in the financial services sector that is seeking a Director, Finance to lead accounting operations, strengthen financial controls, and drive reporting excellence across a complex and evolving business.

Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the finance function. Your Responsibilities

• You'll lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• You'll strengthen accounting controls, reconciliations, and reporting processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• You'll oversee financial reporting, balance sheet integrity, cash management, and regulatory compliance activities.
• You'll partner with senior leaders to provide financial insights, variance analysis, and decision-making support.
• You'll coach and develop a team of four finance professionals, fostering accountability and high performance.
• You'll champion process improvement initiatives, including automation and modernization of financial systems and workflows.
• You'll serve as a key liaison with parent company stakeholders, auditors, and external partners.

 

Skills and Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience, including team management responsibilities
• CPA designation and post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including U.S. GAAP or IFRS and internal control frameworks
• Public accounting experience, ideally with a Big Four or mid-sized firm background
• Proven success leading month-end close, financial reporting, and process improvement initiatives
• Experience working in high-growth, entrepreneurial, or complex business environments
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills with a hands-on approach
