As a Requirements Lead, you will guide the development and management of project requirements, working through key phases such as design, build, set-to-work (STW), and commissioning. Reporting lines will evolve as the project progresses: during the design and build phase, the Requirements Lead will report to the Engineering Manager, and during the STW and commissioning phase, to the Manager, Commissioning and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS). More specifically you will :
• Lead the development of project requirements, ensuring alignment with client needs, regulatory standards, and industry best practices.
• Lead a team of requirements and systems engineers.
• Establish and maintain a comprehensive requirements management plan, including methodologies, tools, and workflows.
• Collaborate with engineering, design, and production teams, internal and external to decompose and derive high-level requirements into detailed equipment specifications.
• Act as the primary liaison between clients, internal teams, and external suppliers to ensure requirements are accurately captured, communicated, and tracked.
• Organize and facilitate workshops, meetings, and reviews to gather requirements.
• Ensure all requirements can be demonstrated as compliant.
• Implement and manage requirements tracking systems, ensuring traceability from client instructions and guidance to acceptance.
• Develop and oversee a robust requirements verification and validation (V&V) process, ensuring all deliverables meet project specifications.
• Develop and oversee the means of capturing objective quality evidence (OQE).
• Review test plans, inspection procedures, and compliance documentation to confirm adherence to requirements.
• Ensure all requirements comply with applicable international maritime regulations, classification society standards, and client-specific guidelines.
• Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders on requirements status, risks, and mitigation strategies.
• Prepare traceability matrices, requirements specifications, and deviation reports.
• Provide training and guidance to team members on requirements management, including theory, tools, and practices.
• Work effectively with others within a project team environment and in accordance with the integrated master schedule for the project.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in naval architecture, marine engineering or other suitable degree would be considered.
• Master’s degree in systems engineering (preferred).
• A minimum of five years of experience in a leadership position executing requirements management or systems engineering, preferably in shipbuilding.
• A minimum of 15 years in systems engineering role is preferred; other engineering disciplines will be considered.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
• Proficiency in requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, M-Files, or similar).
• Proficiency in French and English (written and spoken). Fluency in English is required for this position, as you will interact with English-speaking suppliers, stakeholders or clients.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams.
