Your Opportunity

As a Materials Testing Lab Technician, the selected candidate will work closely with Stantec’s Transportation practice to perform laboratory testing services. Work for this role will primarily be conducted at our lab in Warman, SK.

Your Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Completion of a full range of standard laboratory tests in aggregates, soils, and asphalt concrete

  • Travel to sites, collection of samples

  • Construction Quality control/Quality assurance laboratory testing (Aggregates, Soils, Asphalt)

  • Inspection/calibration of lab equipment

  • Other general laboratory related duties

  • Reporting: You will be required to regularly complete detailed laboratory reports and submit them to the laboratory supervisor.

  • Operations: You will be expected to support team operations and play an integral part in the promotion of our health and safety culture, client relations, equipment and resources maintenance and management, and other related duties will be expected.

Your Capabilities and Qualifications

  • Strong organizational skills and understanding of task assignment and schedule.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and assignments.

  • Must be able to successfully work both collaboratively and independently.

  • Strong analytical and communication skills including both technical writing and oral communication.

  • Strong computer skills and literacy in scheduling, technical writing, presentation, and other software including MS Power Point, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Project.

  • Physical ability to independently lift/carry heavy items weighing up to 50lbs.

  • Possess a valid driver's license.

  • Knowledge and experience conducting laboratory tests in accordance with the Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways Standard Test Procedures (STPs) will be considered an asset.

Education and Experience

  • Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience preferred.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
