We are currently seeking Full-Time Break Relief Guard to support operations within Calgary International Airport (YYC). This respected, high‑responsibility role is essential in ensuring safety, security, and operational continuity.

About the Role

In this position, the successful internal candidate will be responsible for providing operational support at Calgary International Airport by covering breaks and patrolling curbside perimeters. Duties include monitoring arrivals and departures areas, maintaining a visible presence in high‑traffic zones, inspecting and securing gates, conducting frequent patrols of critical infrastructure, and reporting suspicious activity to the Operations Centre. This role requires strong situational awareness, effective customer service skills, and clear radio communication.

What You Bring

  • Valid Alberta Security License
  • Valid First Aid & CPR Certification
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Driver’s License, Class 5
  • Valid and Active Transportation Security Clearance (RAIC)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of radio proficiency and ability to meet ROC-A communication standards
  • Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced, safety-sensitive environment
  • Customer-service focused mindset with a professional and diplomatic approach

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during 5.5 to 7-hour shifts
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to perform regular patrols covering large areas
  • Ability to respond quickly to changing situations, including climbing stairs and navigating uneven surfaces

Working Conditions

  • Fast-paced, international airport environment
  • Day and overnight shifts are required
  • Combination of indoor and outdoor work environments
