Our Edmonton Trenchless Technologies Team has several leading trenchless specialists that are engaged on projects across Canada, the US, and other countries throughout the world. We specialize in the design of trenchless installation and rehabilitation applications and condition assessment programs. Our team fosters the development of our staff through strong mentorship and exposure to small to large complex projects across a diverse range of industries and regions. Your Opportunity
An opportunity currently exists for a Trenchless EIT in our Trenchless Technologies Team within our Water Group. The ideal candidate will be able to evaluate, select, specify, and engineer systems or products for trenchless design. A Trenchless EIT is expected to perform a variety of tasks which may include calculations, report and proposal writing, field work, coordination of simple tasks, and meeting attendance and recording. In general, the role will involve assisting more senior engineers/designers by performing the routine aspects of trenchless engineering assignments.

Your Key Responsibilities
Support multi-disciplinary projects as a trenchless designer, related to new build and infrastructure renewal
Support the development and review of condition assessment projects
Undertake detailed studies and design tasks associated with trenchless projects
Perform project administration, including coordination of and preparing reports, gathering information, drafting proposals, drafting correspondence, completing progress reports, and assisting in design management
Write reports and design briefs
Take responsibility for the quality of your written, technical and graphic work, and for completing work on-time and on-budget
Coordinate design drawing and specification development
Attend internal, client, and contractor meetings and document the meetings with minutes
Contract Administration support as required for trenchless construction
Assist with site visits and field investigations as necessary
Perform other duties as required
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Registration with APEGA as a member-in-training, or eligible to register.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities and adjust to changing demands
Ability to work in a team environment, taking initiative to help out where needed to balance team workloads.
Commitment to thrive in a proactive organization where client service is second to none.
A strong knowledge of municipal infrastructure design and construction with an emphasis on trenchless technologies will be considered an asset.
Previous experience working in a role involving trenchless design and or construction support will be considered an asset.
Working knowledge of various software for planning and design of trenchless installations and rehabilitation (AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar) will be considered an asset.
Working knowledge of various geotechnical modeling software used for planning and design of trenchless installations (Rocscience 2D&3D, PLAXIS 2D&3D, midas GTS NX, FLAC3D) will be considered an asset.
Education and Experience
B.Sc. or Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution, preferably with a focus on geotechnical knowledge.
M.Sc. or M.Eng. in Trenchless Engineering or related geotechnical field will be considered an asset.
Valid Class 5 Drivers License.
Related experience (including Co-op/Internship) preferred.
Typical office environment working with computers and working at a desk for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
