About the Team

The Bell Canada Pension Group is seeking a Senior Consultant, Pension and Actuarial Services to provide consulting services for a diverse clientele of business units within Bell Canada and its affiliates. This team oversees the design, administration, communications, registration and actuarial valuations of a multitude of pension plans with total assets exceeding $20 billion. The role involves ensuring the effective management of these pension plans, with a particular emphasis on pension investments, asset liability management, and long-term risk management, while maintaining compliance with regulatory and accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support mandates related to asset liability management (including liability-driven investment strategies)
  • Provide analysis and recommendations on pension investment strategies in support of governance committees and senior management
  • Preparing and delivering presentations for various pension and investment committees
  • Actuarial valuations and IFRS accounting for pension plans
  • Participating in initiatives and communications related to accumulation plans

Critical Qualifications

  • University degree in actuarial sciences
  • Over 10 years of related experience in pensions, with a strong focus on investment and/or asset liability management
  • CFA designation
  • Strong understanding of pension plan investment strategies, asset liability management, and financial risk concepts
  • Comprehensive understanding of pension plan design, regulations and administration
  • Bilingualism required:

    In the course of their duties, this person will be required to interact with French & English speaking stakeholders across Canada
    As part of the job, this person will be required to produce documents in French & English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA) designation is considered an asset
  • High level of initiative, with the ability to anticipate and address complex challenges
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with cross-functional teams, external advisors, and stakeholders

 

Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
