As a Skills Development Specialist – Mechanical Assembler, you will support employees in developing their professional skills to improve their performance and help them adapt to changes in their field. You will actively participate in the development and implementation of training programs that contribute to the professional growth of mechanical assemblers. You will also support the Mechanical Assembly Superintendent in training and mentoring instructors in this field.

More specifically, you will:

  • Serve as an influencer and consultant in piping and mechanical fitting, and contribute to various training and skills pathway development projects.
  • Participate in the development of training content for piping, mechanical fitting, and plumbing.
  • Design learning methods that promote the development of employees’ skills.
  • Assess the skills, strengths, and areas for improvement of mechanical fitters.
  • Develop, in collaboration with the mechanical assembly superintendent, personalized development plans to optimize work quality.
  • Support the application of skills in real-world situations.
  • Monitor the progress of mechanical assemblers and adjust learning strategies based on their learning styles.
  • Provide guidance on learning methods (self-directed learning, digital tools, etc.)
  • Work with the mechanical assembly supervisor or mechanical assembly trainer to identify development objectives aimed at maximizing the quality of training.
  • Foster motivation, self-confidence, and engagement among learners.
  • Prepare and manage the logistics and materials required for training in piping, plumbing, and mechanical fitting.
  • Maintain an inclusive and safe training environment.
  • Train instructors in the delivery of work methods and techniques.
  • Collaborate with instructors and advisors from various departments to ensure continuity and the transfer of skills in the field.
  • Stay abreast of technical and pedagogical developments

 

 

Requirements

  • Vocational diploma (DEP) in plumbing, piping, or mechanical fitting, or equivalent experience

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in training delivery and/or training content development
  • Strong knowledge of the trade and safe work practices
  • Knowledge of brewing processes (asset)
  • Demonstrated ability to apply engaging teaching methods that support knowledge retention
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration mindset
  • Ability to objectively assess learners
  • Strong sense of responsibility and prioritization
  • Flexibility regarding working hours (Monday to Friday)
  • Intermediate level of English required to train non-French-speaking employees
