We are currently seeking a Sales/Marketing & Business Development Coordinator to support operations within our Business Development & Marketing Department at Commissionaires HQ in Calgary. This respected, high responsibility role is essential in ensuring safety, security, and operational continuity through strong business development and client engagement initiatives.

About the Role

In this position, you will support the Business Development and Marketing team in a professional security services environment. You will contribute to lead generation, proposal and bid coordination, CRM administration, and marketing initiatives focused on contract-based B2B clients. This is a development-focused role designed for early-career professionals looking to build foundational experience in sales, marketing, and long-cycle client engagement within the security industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Support & Pipeline Assistance

  • Assist the sales team by researching prospective B2B clients in commercial, industrial, and institutional sectors.
  • Support lead intake, basic qualification, and opportunity updates within the CRM system.
  • Assist with preparation of sales materials such as capability statements, presentations, and client briefs.
  • Track sales activities, calls, meetings, and follow-ups to support pipeline visibility.
  • Provide administrative and coordination support for client meetings and sales initiatives.

Proposal & Bid Support (Security Services)

  • Support assembly of RFP (Request for Proposal), RFQ, (Request for Quotation) and tender submissions for security guarding and related services.
  • Assist with formatting, document control, and compliance checks for bid submissions.
  • Coordinate internally to gather required information such as service descriptions, licenses, and certifications.
  • Maintain organized proposal content libraries including resumes, insurance certificates, and standard responses.

Marketing & Lead Generation (B2B)

  • Assist with execution of B2B marketing campaigns promoting security services.
  • Support email outreach, LinkedIn posting, and website/social media content updates.
  • Track basic marketing results such as inquiries, leads, and engagement metrics through various social media platforms and google analytics.
  • Support account-based marketing activities for targeted commercial and public-sector clients.

Content & Communications

  • Assist in drafting and updating marketing materials including brochures, one-pagers, social media content, and case summaries.
  • Ensure content aligns with company branding, licensing, and security professionalism standards.
  • Support internal communications related to sales and marketing initiatives and employee communication (internal & external)

Reporting & Learning Support

  • Compile basic sales and marketing activity reports for management review.
  • Maintain accurate and well-organized marketing and sales documentation.
  • Participate in onboarding and ongoing training related to security services and B2B sales processes.

Career Development & Progression

  • This role is designed as a development position with clear pathways for career advancement within sales, marketing, or business development.
  • Year 1: Focus on learning security services offerings, sales processes, proposal support, and CRM systems.
  • Year 2: Increased responsibility in lead management, proposal coordination, and targeted account support
  • Potential progression into roles such as Sales & Marketing Specialist, Business Development Coordinator
  • Ongoing coaching, training, and exposure to senior sales professionals and leadership

What You Bring

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
  • 1–2 years of experience in an entry-level marketing, sales, communications, or administrative role
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and willingness to learn
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Interest in sales, business development, or the security services industry
