About the Opportunity

Our client, a fast-paced organization within the transportation and operations sector, is seeking an AP Clerk to join their finance team on a contract basis. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment and takes pride in keeping financial operations running smoothly and accurately.

You’ll work closely with finance professionals, internal departments, and external vendors to support high-volume accounts payable processes, payment coordination, reconciliations, and issue resolution. This role offers strong exposure to day-to-day accounting operations within a dynamic and team-oriented workplace.

Your Responsibilities

  • You’ll process invoices, employee expenses, cheque requisitions, and payment requests while ensuring accuracy and appropriate approvals
  • In this role, you’ll reconcile vendor statements, payment reports, prepaids, and aging accounts to support smooth financial operations
  • You’ll investigate invoice discrepancies and collaborate with internal teams and vendors to resolve issues efficiently
  • You’ll support payment processing activities, including cheques, EFTs, wires, and urgent time-sensitive payments
  • In this role, you’ll maintain vendor records and assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end audit activities
  • You’ll help monitor expense reporting and support the setup and maintenance of employee expense accounts

Skills and Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of progressive accounts payable or accounting support experience
  • Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Experience working within high-volume or fast-paced environments
  • Strong understanding of GAAP/IFRS principles
  • Proficiency with Excel and ERP/accounting systems, experience with Great Plains is considered an asset
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently while managing competing priorities and deadlines
