Ship Maintenance Lead, Corrective Maintenance

Regulatory Compliance Requirements
Required to access and work in DND facilities and therefore must comply with Federal facility health regulations
Requires direct or indirect access to hardware, software, technology or technical data controlled under the Canadian Export Control List, the ITAR or the EAR.
Requires a positive Controlled Goods assessment as personnel will have direct access to hardware, software, technology or technical data controlled under the Canadian Controlled Goods Program.
Required to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance at the NATO Secret Level.
Position Summary
We have a current vacancy for a Ship Maintenance Lead, Corrective Maintenance (CM) who will oversee the defect notifications, system of record updates, chair regular meetings with various program stakeholders and provide task assignment updates for naval vessels Responsible to the Ship Maintenance Team Lead, the Ship Maintenance Lead, CM will work closely with the Naval Engineering Management Lead, platform specific Ship Maintenance Leads, Maintenance Coordinators, Engineering as well as external stakeholders. Other duties relating to ship maintenance will be assigned as capacity dictates.
Key Areas of Responsibility
The Ship Maintenance Lead CM is responsible to:
Search for newly raised defects within the Royal Canadian Navy’s maintenance management information system (DRMIS) and ensure relevant details are populated into Thales’ maintenance management information system and associated tracking tools.
Chair the bi-weekly AJISS Assignment Team (AAT) meeting and conduct all associated meeting administration including distributing information on new defects prior to each meeting as well as job assignments on conclusion of each meeting .
Review high-level scope of all corrective maintenance jobs assigned to Thales and assign follow-on Specification/Statement of Work development tasks to an appropriate member of the Thales Waterfront Team.
Draft, review and approve Statements of Work using Thales’ document management system.
Work with the Coastal Planning Team and Ship Maintenance Leads to ensure Corrective Maintenance jobs assigned to Thales are added into scope for upcoming short work periods based on materiel availability and other resource constraints.
On behalf of the coastal Service Delivery Team, liaise with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) who have annual support agreements with Thales. Work with the Waterfront Engineering team and applicable Ship Maintenance Leads to identify opportunities for OEMs to complete corrective and preventative maintenance assigned to them under their applicable annual support agreements.
Provide updates to internal stakeholders, draft and distribute reports related to Corrective Maintenance on an as-required basis.
Support data entry and data validation in the Royal Canadian Navy’s maintenance management information system (DRMIS) as required.
Other duties in support of the Coastal Service Delivery Team as assigned by the Waterfront Manager.
Minimum Qualifications
3 or more years of experience managing projects and teams, preferably in the ship/dockyard and Naval environments.
Experience in the supervision of teams undertaking maintenance activities.
Strong computer literacy, with proven experience with Microsoft products especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint essential.
Experience interfacing between various internal/external stakeholders within a project;
Strong organizational skills and ability to balance multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications
Possess a minimum 3-Year Technical Program diploma offered by a recognized technical institute or certified as a technologist by a recognized provincial, state, or federal (national) licensing body in a relevant field or certified to the QL-6B level of military technical training.
Accreditation as a Certified Practicing Project Manager or equivalent
Experience within procurement, project management or warehouse environments
Experience with the Defense Resource Management Information System (DRMIS), or comparable document management system
Experience working within or leading In Service Support Projects
Experience working within a defence environment with active defence force personnel

Special Position Requirements
Predominantly working onsite in the Naval Dockyard and onboard Naval Vessels, will also be required to work from the office or from home.
Will be required to undertake inspections, including confined space entry, on Naval ships involving bending and twisting. Tasks may also requiring working at heights.
Schedule: 40 hours per week
Physical Environment: Office and Naval ships alongside in harbour, or at sea, therefore must meet all federal government requirements to access Canadian government facilities, including naval dockyards
Travel: Occasional domestic or international travel will be required, which will include access to government facilities and assets, including naval vessels
Customer Location Based or Site Visits: Access to government facilities and assets, including naval vessels
The reference Total Target Compensation (TTC) market range for this position, inclusive of annual base salary and the variable compensation target, is between Total Target Cash (TTC) $100,000 - $121,000 CAD Annual.
